Forgiveness

Although it had taken awhile,
He said "hello"
and made her smile.

She smiled, when she wanted to frown,
but his words,
always turned her upside down.

He looked and apologised.
suddenly
tears poured from her eyes.

She dreamed of when those words, he'd say.
But when he gestured for her hand...
She easily turned away.

Away, away, and away she kept.

regretted that he'd ever left.
